Life in the USA is a complete guide to American life for immigrants and Americans. All materials on this siteCopyright © Elliot Essman 2005. All rights reserved. Life In The USA Home PageIf you are a student writer, either in high school or college, in the USA or outside, we're interested in publishing your essays about any aspect of American life. Familiarize yourself with the complete lifeintheusa site first. Your writing should cover subjects that would be useful to someone coming to the USA from another country. We'll include your name and brief details about you (or not, as you wish). All materials become property of lifeintheusa.com.
- Essays can be about any aspect of American life, serious or not so serious. Some examples of subjects we have not yet covered in lifeintheusa.com are cheerleading, student attitudes towards American foreign policy, fashion trends, disaster relief, current pop stars, or anything your brain can think of. Feel free also to suggest we cover a subject, even if you're not going to write about it.
- You can also write an essay about your town, state or region for inclusion in our Great American Places review sections.
- Please communicate with us first with a suggestion for your essay: the subject, and the section of lifeintheusa.com where it would belong. Send your email to Elliot Essman at . Keep your email neat and clearly written, and include your full name, geographic location, grade, and the name of your school.
- We won't be able to print an essay for every idea we get, but once you get the go-ahead from us, please keep essays to 500 words maximum and edit very carefully. Spell-checking alone is never enough. A good tip is to print out your article and have a few other people read it. We welcome shorter essays, even just a paragraph, as long as they add to the usefulness of lifeintheusa.com.
- If you'd like to coordinate your writing project with your teacher or school to get academic credit or recognition, please feel free to have your teacher get in touch with us. We're also happy to help out with writing projects or school essay contests.
- We're open to creating new sections of lifeintheusa.com for your essays or adding your material to the existing lifeintheusa.com sections. As essays come in, we will also be creating special sections to feature student writers, with photos and biographies.
- Of course lifeintheusa.com needs your fullest support. Our Support Page gives you suggestions on how you can help increase awareness of the site. For starters, you can spead the word in your school or in your community. If you have a your own blog on the web, please add links to us as often as possible.
