Hollywood has produced many fine movies about war. A Walk in the Sun (1945), Sands of Iwo Jima (1949), From Here to Eternity (1953), The Longest Day (1963), The Great Escape (1963) and Patton (1970) have World War Two themes. Apocalypse Now (1979), Platoon (1986), Good Morning Vietnam (1987), Full Metal Jacket (1987), and Hamburger Hill (1987) are all very different films about the Vietnam war.
